Founded in 1902, Cockett Henderson has a long established reputation as a professional and well respected Company. Located in the High Street at Broadstairs, Cockett Henderson provides excellence of service in residential and commercial lettings and the management of blocks of flats on behalf of Freeholders. The Company was acquired in 2001 by Jeremy Parkin, a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and is the only dedicated Lettings Agency in Thanet under professionally qualified governance.

Cockett Henderson offers a high quality professional service based on the highest business principles. We provide the same quality of service to Landlords with differing needs ranging from the single property owner seeking alternative income, to the ‘professional’ Landlord with a significant portfolio of properties.

All of our tenants undergo rigorous referencing prior to agreement to provide a tenancy and our property maintenance staff regularly carry out internal and external inspections, to make sure that the property is being maintained to a good standard. Should the need arise to carry out significant works, our dedicated Property Maintenance Co-ordinator, under the guidance of in-house Surveyors, is well equipped to obtain estimates from suitably qualified trades people and oversee works through to completion. Our contractors database can source trades people for the whole range of repairs from leaking taps to major refurbishment projects.

Our clients rest assured that all funds are held in dedicated Clients’ Accounts which are regulated by the RICS Rules of Governance. These monies, which are subject to RICS as well as general Accounting audits, have the added protection of being insured in accordance with those regulations.

Freehold Block Management is overseen by our Estates Manager who has full access to the Property Maintenance and Surveying teams. Partial or full management can be provided according to the Client’s needs and these range from providing billing and account services only through to full day to day management of the block and official Limited Company statutory functions. This service is provided under the Companies RICS professional standards and provides flexibility of service along with total peace of mind for Freeholders and Leaseholders alike.
